This year to celebrate National S’mores Day, the LFWK family decided to do a classic backyard s’more night. We went to South Shore, made sure all ingredients were vegan, fired up the grill and the rest is s’mores history!!
It was critically important for the ingredients to be vegan – because who needs all those additives and animal products!? Whenever possible, I try to use vegan alternatives. In the long run, vegan options are better for our bodies and better for the planet, overall.
For this recipe, I shopped at my local Whole Foods in Hillcrest for the ingredients. I used 365 branded Organic Honey Graham Crackers, Theo 70% Dark Chocolate bars, and Dandies All-Natural Vanilla Marshmallows.
With these quality vegan substitutes – trust me, you won’t miss a thing! Here’s the gist, try it and tell us how it went...
Ingredients per serving:
1 vegan marshmallow
2 vegan graham crackers
1 square dark chocolate
1. Place your marshmallow on a long stick or metal skewer and roast directly over the fire.
2. Break the graham cracker in half. Place the chocolate square on the bottom and the roasted marshmallow on top. Close with the other half of the graham cracker.
3. Enjoy the marshmallowy, chocolate goodness! These guys sure did!!!
